PT Boats
View of two PT (Patrol Torpedo) boats from another PT boat, off of the north coast of New Guinea (present day Papua New Guinea). PT (Patrol Torpedo) boats were a variety of torpedo-armed fast attack craft used to attack larger surface ships. One of the boat's guns and some of the soldier's gear and helmets can be seen on the deck. A soldier is sitting (partially obscured) on the right. |
