ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This work references a remark that Dreyfus made to a honey queen in 1980. The comment was that his wife referred to honey as "bee poop" as a child. Evy Peterson Nerbonne wrote about the remark in her column in the Amery Free Press, criticizing Dreyfus for this statement, citing disrespect for the agribusiness community. This started an uproar in the honey producer community, with the northwestern district of the Wisconsin Beekeepers Association reportedly sending a letter asking Dreyfus to stop referring to honey as "bee poop."
