A hematite fan, approximately six inches in length, from the mineral collection of Ferdinand Hotz at the University of Wisconsin Geology Museum. This specimen was collected either in Ely, Minnesota or Superior, Wisconsin. Label reads: 1425.27.

Nine specimens from Ferdinand Hotz's collection are on permanent display at the University of Wisconsin Geology Museum, 1215 W. Dayton Street, Madison, WI. The collection was donated to the museum in 1984 by Hotz's son, Ferdinand Leonard Hotz. Image ID: 106143 is an alternate view of the specimen pictured here.
