Shooting of Charles C.P. Arndt by James Vineyard in the territorial council chamber of the legislature. This depiction of the event was created by the staff artist for the Milwaukee Journal on April 30, 1953.

The vest warn by Arndt, with the bullet hole, is now in the museum collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society. There is a color, tryptic painting in the Society headquarters building that contains a depiction of the same event. It was painted by William Ashby McCloy in observance of the Wisconsin Centennial.
