A carte-de-visite of John Schmit, Freddy Hill, Leland Fay and George Schmit, who were frozen on the night of March 10th and 11th, 1876, on the Green Bay and Milwaukee Railroad bridge over Elk Creek during the Great Freshet (flood) of 1876. Their feet were amputated due to exposure to the cold. |
