The original typewritten caption reads, "The Model Steam Laundry Company, Charlotte, North Carolina, is now operating a fleet of twelve International motor trucks. The checkerboard finish is especially effective as an attention getter on ten recently purchased streamlined Model D-2 1/2-ton panel trucks. One of these is shown in front of the Model Steam Laundry. The checkerboard squares are 6 inches square. The lettering is in gold with blue shading. (More in mimeographed article 'Painted Like a Checkerboard.')."
