The Office of Programs and Outreach helps people connect with their past by publishing books and magazines, offering expert professional advice, supporting K-12 students and teachers, and hosting public programs.
Programs and Outreach
Outreach programs that support education, local history, and lifelong learning include the following:
Wisconsin Historical Society Press
The Wisconsin Historical Society Press edits and publishes most of the materials issued by the society, including books and the quarterly Wisconsin Magazine of History.
National History Day in Wisconsin
The Office of Programs and Ourteach coordinates the state's National History Day program for more than 10,000 students and families statewide.
Local History-Field Services
Local History-Field Services provides support and technical assistance to nearly 400 affiliated local historical societies and museums through two field services offices. They also partner with the Wisconsin Council for Local History to offer a mini-grant program, regional meetings and the Annual Local History-Historic Preservation conference.
