This state facility was designed for the treatment and education of the developmentally disabled. The buildings are arranged in "cottage plan" in a rural setting two miles northwest of Union Grove. Historic Buildings are unified by use of red brick foundations, cream brick walls and tile roofs. Six resident's cottages are grouped in pairs. The historic district also includes a gymnasium, the superintendent's residence and garage, and various maintenance and laundry buildings, all built between 1919 and 1938. |
