This district is on the grounds of and associated with the Fountain Springs House (demolished 1957), once the largest resort hotel in the Midwest and symbol of Waukesha's "Springs Era." These 15 distinctive and picturesque residences in Queen Anne and Classical Revival style were built between 1880 and 1915. The Sinsel House at 149 West Laflin Avenue was home to the superintendent of the resort. |
