The district at the corner of North Prospect Avenue and East Knapp Street contains 11 historic residences surrounding a small triangular park (Burns Triangle) that features a statue of Scottish poet Robert Burns, erected in 1909. These upper class residences, many of which now house offices, were built between 1855 and 1896 and designed by leading architects in high style Victorian domestic architecture.
