NOTES
Additional Information:Short square tower on south end of facade; decorative shingles in the cross gable; segmental arched long windows; freize board along the roof line; hip roofed rear extension; gable roofed one bay open entrance added to structure.

Built by the businessmen and lumberman, Hiram Goddard, the old hotel, also known as the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Hotel around the turn of the century, is one of the few architectural representatives of the 19th century railroad era remaining in North La Crosse. Unfortunately, although still possible to restore, the structure has lost significance by neglect and removal of architectural details through the years.

The 1906 Sanborn-Perris Map shows a one-story porch running the width of the building on the Prospect side.

2016 UPDATE - THE GODDARD HOTEL APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS WHEN LAST SURVEYED IN 1996

Addition constructed in 1891.
