NOTES
Additional Information:Tarrant was a lumberman associated with the Dick Wilson Mill. They sold the house to Maria and William Gans who owned it until about 1900. The next owner was Thomas McDermott, a Civil War veteran of the 6th Minnesota Infantry. He became a railroad manager and timber scout. He lived at 403 W. Grand and rented this property out.

2016- "The front composition of this house is far more formal and decorative than the private faces of the building. The front porch is quite ornamented with its center roof gable, turned wood columns, and shallow arches to support the roof and decorated side bays. Several other houses in the neighbnorhood replicate the features of the Tarrant House.

Elias Tarrant, a lumberman associated with the Dick Wilson Mill, and his wife Eliza were the first owners of this house. They sold it to William Gans, whose widow Maria lived here until about 1900. The subsequient owner was Thomas McDermott, a Civil War veteran of the 6th Minnesota Infantry, who became a railroad manager and timber scout. McDermott and his wife lived at 403 W. Grand and maintained 415 and 417 West Grand as rental properties."
