Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. TWO BROTHERS HAD THE HOUSE BUILT. Always 2 houses. Harvey LaTumer, John Robbins. Columns added 1901. A colonial revivalized Greek Revival "duplex" with a mute portico. One of the oldest known structures still standing in the city. Built to house the families of John and Harvey Kimberly. This double house is a rare example of this type of property in Neenah. Among the earliest settlers of Neenah, the Kimberly's brought wealth to the community and shaped the social structure of the area. Later generations who successively occupied the house also played a major role in establishing paper manufacturing as one of the leading industries in Wisconsin. This property was last surveyed in 1981 using the City Engineer's Base Map with the code 1/30. The 2004 map code is 151/25a. |
