NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Altered: 1909, 1925, 1928. 1928 - brick veneer front. This church is presumed to have a considerably earlier construction date (c. 1850-1860) but through its various alterations is now in its present form. A simple gabled block with implied Gothicisms. The original congregation moved this church in 1909 from 5th Avenue and Orchard to its present site. In 1954 it was sold to Holy Trinity from the Hungarian Assembly of God. First Swedish Lutheran is now located at 4360 N. 21st Street and is known as Augustina Lutheran. The present congregation is a mixture of Latvians, Poles, and Russians.
