Additional Information: | 2024: The property consists of a corner-story-and-flat building (101175) and a small single-family residence (101176). The corner-story-and-flat building was constructed in 1907 at the northwest corner of Maple Street and S. 1st Street. It is a two-and one-half story rectangular plan, front-gabled building that faces south toward E. Maple Street. The first story is clad in vinyl siding and the second story is clad in asbestos siding. The principal, south-facing, elevation features false-front parapets with modillioned cornices on either side of the gable. The entrance is recessed into the southeast corner of the building and is flanked by tall glass block windows. Several of the windows in the second story have been removed and replacement with a one-by-one sliding sash windows; the remaining windows in the upper stories are one-over-one hung sash windows. |
