Early residents of this house were the Johnson family. Morgan Johnson worked as manager of the Booth Fisheries complex on the waterfront just two blocks away. The Kranzenfelder family were later, long-time occupants of the house. John Kranzenfelder was a German butcher who took over the Dittus meat market and later became vice president and director of the First National Bank. Kranzenfelder served on the town board and the county board.
