It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. CIRCULAR APSE. SQUARE TOWER. BARGEBOARDS. Carpenter Gothic. The original part of the church, its chapel, was built in 1870 as the first Episcopal Church in northern Wisconsin. The belfry tower was added in 1883. The cedar posts that supported the church were replaced in 1948 by a concrete foundaton. NOTES FROM 1983 SURVEY FORM: Date of initial construction: 1870 (later additions) General comments: Excellent example of stick style architecture with barge board trim. Steeple is bellcast at the eaves. Note-rossette opening in the lower part of the steeple and front doors with slanted boards. Relevant Historical Data and Sources: -interior is virtually intact -varnished wood carvings and pews -some stained glass windows still remain -semi-circular sanctuary -the furthest rear gable is curved to match the shape of the sanctuary -the rear view of the exterior is also visually rich.
