BAYFIELD SURVEY FORM (07/1974) General Comments: -abandoned from vehicular use in 1942 -since 1942 used as a pedestrian bridge This wrought iron bridge was built by Wausau Iron Works in 1912. The ravine below was once the site of the city cow pound and a ball park. Gilbert Larsen established the nature trail leading up under the bridge in the late 1960s. The bridge was restored in 1988 |
