NAER INVENTORY (06/1979):
This structure was built in 1934 by John Jorgensen as the Denmark Brewery. The brewery averaged 15,000 barrels a year. Brands were Oldtown Lager and 20th Century Pale. The business declared bankruptancy in 1945 and closed in 1947. The building was subsequently used for cold storage purposes by the Atlas Cold Storage Co. and eventually to its current (06/1979) use as a printing shop.

Horizontally expressed polycromed brickwork and embatelments accent the building. The building is a one, two and three story structure, constructed of brick.

Resurveyed 2009. Appearance unchanged.

2009- "The Denmark Brewery was built in 1934. The complex consists of two building masses: a one-story office block which fronts the sidewalk, and a long one-story rear section whose eastern end is capped by a two- and three-story section. All the building masses are flat-roofed with parapets, and are clad in black and red brick with cream brick laid in decorative geometric friezes. The parapet copings are of cast stone, and the copings on the rear section are crenellated. A portion of the east wall has been covered with vinyl siding. Fenestration in the office block consists of single and three-part metal windows set into originally larger openings (the difference in size being covered with vertical metal cladding). Fenestration throughout the rest of the building is irregular and consists of multi-pane industrial windows, some of which have been covered with wood panels."
