It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. MASSIVE SECOND EMPIRE CHARACTER WITH ROOF PIERCED BY DORMERS. SQUARE TOWER AT ANGLE. AN ADDITIONAL STORY WRAP AROUND PORCH WITH TURNED BALUSTRADE. HOODED DOUBLE ARCH WINDOW BRACKETS UNDER EAVES. In the 1940s, the front porch was rebuilt, a side porch on the south side was removed and the south side rear porch was enclosed. Interior alterations at this time include the removal of the dining room fireplace, adding bathrooms to the first and second floor (the second floor bath blocks access to the tower) and other minor alterations to the floor plan. In 1962, a family room and sun porch was added to the rear of the building. Nathan B. Chase was also a lumberman. |
