NOTES
Additional Information:1977: SADDLE NOTCH CONSTRUCTION WITH CENTRAL DRIVE-THROUGH September 2020: The resource is surrounded by agricultural fields and has densely forested areas to the north and east. The Daniel Butler Log Barn was incorrectly mapped and is actually located to the northeast of the plotted point. The Daniel Butler Log Barn (#19) was previously surveyed in 1977 (Wisconsin Historical Society 1977). The AHI form notes the structure as a circa 1880 Astylistic Utilitarian threshing barn of saddle notch construction with a central drive-through. No recommendation or determination of eligibility is noted on the form. Currently, the barn has collapsed and little remains intact. A 1917 atlas shows John Butler as the owner of the parcel containing the barn (Day and Forss 1917). Historic aerial imagery shows the gabled barn and a smaller structure to the west of the barn in 1939 (USDA 1939). However, by 1954, the smaller structure is no longer extant (NETROnline 2020). By 1983, the roof appears to have caved in (NETROnline 2020). threshing barn
