Additional Information: | Photo code #2: 75BR-4/10. Segmental arch, brick hood molds above all windows. Gable roof, one-story wing on west side of main block with shed roof, full length, open porch with turned porch posts and intact, ornamental scrollwork brackets between porch posts. Wing has same segmental arch hood molds as the main block and was apparently built at the same time. Architectural/Engineering Significance One of the best of a small group of brick, front gabled houses with one and a half story gable roof main blocks, and one story gable roof ells placed at right angles to main block. Differs from the side gabled ell building form in that the main entrance is always in the main block not the ell, although several examles have second entrances int he ell, as well. The original setting of all of these houses would have been rural in nature with the expanding city having subsequently fileld in the area surrounding them. #650: Garage. |
