Additional Information: | 2012- This highly intact, two-story-tall, nearly square plan single family residence is essentially a mirror image of the house described above at 8A Hayes Court (223674) and it too has an asymmetrical main facade that faces north onto A Hayes Court, it was built ca. 1924, and it is a later example of the American Foursquare style. The basement story of this house is clad in variegated orange and brown colored brick as is the first story, while the second story is clad in wood shingles. The house is sheltered by a hip roof that has a single hiproofed dormer facing to the front and most of the house's original windows appear to still be intact. -"USH 2 (Belknap St.)" WisDOT ID #8680-00-01 (71), Prepared by Timothy F. Heggland (MAP) (2012). 2019 - Built by Rene Lagae, president of the Allouez Lumber Company. His firm constructed hundreds of modest houses throughout Superior. The Hayes Court A-B development contains several similar housing forms, with larger and more expensive houses located along Belknap Street. |
