Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Sunset Circle Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2023 The Leonard and Grace Groskopf House was constructed in 1966. It is a two-story single-family dwelling with attached garage integrated into the main volume of the side-gabled sub-type of the Colonial Revival style popularized in the mid-twentieth century. The side-gabled house is rectangular in plan consisting of a two-story living space and a one-story side-facing attached garage. The lower story, attached garage, and smaller upper story are clad in vinyl siding. The house features wide frieze trim below the eaves and eave returns in the gable ends. An open-air porch is recessed into the house with a stone veneer and squared posts that have replaced the previous wrought iron supports. The main entrance and bay picture window are sheltered below the porch. Since 2013, the extant vinyl siding replaced or covered the original aluminum siding, and the previous stone veneer was replaced with the extant stone veneer. The extant one-over-one hung sash windows have also been replaced the previous multi-lite windows. The windows in the south elevation of the garage were reduced in height and altered from individual to paired windows. |
