Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Sunset Circle Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2023 Although the Village of Allouez assessor data indicates that 668 Sunset Circle was constructed in 1952, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that the Bergstrand family was ready to move into their recently constructed house in July of 1955 which was substantiated in the Green Bay City Directory. Completed in 1955, the Milton and Jettie Bergstrand House is a one-story ranch type single-family dwelling that features the characteristic horizontality, boxed overhanging eaves, wrapped windows, picture window, and broad chimney. It is U-shaped in plan with a cross-hipped roof encompassing the L-shaped living space and a front-facing attached garage. The exterior is clad in cream brick with wide band frieze trim below the overhanging eaves. The main entrance is at the junction of the cross-hipped living space and is accentuated by an integrated planter. The entrance is flanked by a three-lite picture window. The windows are otherwise one-over-one hung windows placed individually and in pairs. An internal stone-veneered chimney rises from the north facing roof slope between the livings space and the garage. |
