The original 1952 structures include the two-story, T-shaped, brick building (the Screen & Grit Building), the two above-ground, brick Sludge Digestion Tanks and three, at-grade, Preliminary Sedimentation Tanks. In 1972, the two-story, Vacuum Filter Building was added to the east end of the facility, a new one-story, brick Control Room was added to the west end and an enclused brick walkway was constructed. Four aeration tanks (in front of the Control Room), six Final Sedimentation tanks and a new Chlorine Contact Tank was also added in 1972. The facililty functioned until 1992, when a new facility was erected in the City. None of the interior, water treatment-related mechanicals remain in the building. |
