Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property named 'Otto and Hulda Waak Farmstead'. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Otto and Hulda Waak acquired the property in 1903. The majority of the buildings were probably constructed around 1905. The farmstead includes the farmhouse (AHI #224242), a basement barn (AHI #224243), a concrete block smokehouse (AHI #224244), two sheds (AHI #224245 and 224247), a privy (AHI #224248), and a shed from a neighboring property which was moved to this location around 1987 (AHI #224249). 2013- "The garage (AHI# 224247) is one story tall, with an exposed north basement wall. The basement story is constructed of concrete block with brick veneer on the north (front) wall. Two wood overhead garage doors are located in the north wall, with two modern vinyl double-hungs above. The east and west walls each have small three-light wood windows in the basement story. The presence of the wood windows and doors suggest that the garage is a historic building which was re-clad, most likely at the same time as the house." - "CTH II, Talmadge Road - CTH I", WisDOT ID #7826-05-00, Prepared by Justin Miller for GLARC, Inc (2013). |
