NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This is the old Richland County Poor Farm cemetery that was used from 1895 through 1948. See ASI# 20844.

2013- "The Richland County Poor Farm contains eight contributing resources including the Senior Citizens' Home (AHI#224263), the Home for the Aged (224260), a garage (224261), a water utility building (224262), a sewage disposal building (224264), two cemeteries (224266 and 224267), and a caretaker's cottage (224269). Noncontributing resources include a picnic shelter (224270) and a storage shed (224271).

This cemetery was established in 1895 as part of the Richland County Poor Farm. It is located within an agricultural field west of the poor farm buildings and measures about 80 ft wide by 315 ft long; the cemetery is not fenced and original stone pillars at each corner are no longer extant. As of an inspection performed in August 1999, no grave markers remain and the cemetery was noted as "very difficult to find." A single stone has been placed at the entrance bearing the names of all persons buried there. At the time of the evaluation (February 2013), the cemetery was inaccessible and difficult to identify due to heavy snow cover."
