Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Demolished between 2013 and 2022. 2013- "The Richland County Poor Farm contains eight contributing resources including the Senior Citizens' Home (AHI#224263), the Home for the Aged (224260), a garage (224261), a water utility building (224262), a sewage disposal building (224264), two cemeteries (224266 and 224267), and a caretaker's cottage (224269). Noncontributing resources include a picnic shelter (224270) and a storage shed (224271). This small side-gabled house was constructed c.1950. It is rectangular in plan with a concrete foundation, vinyl siding, and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in plan due to uneven fenstration; the front door is located at the center of the facade and is sheltered by a small front-gabled entry porch. South of the door is a 1-over-1 window; north of the door is a pair of 1-over-1 windows. The north and south elevations each contain two 1-over-1 windows." - "Richland County Poor Farm", WisDOT ID #5409-06-00, Prepared by GLARC, Inc (Gail Klein) (2013). |
