Additional Information: | 2013: This farmstead consists of a farmhouse [224874], barn [224875], milk house, silos, garage, and two tobacco barns [224877 and 224878]. The property is located on the east side of CTH F and faces west. The basement barn is located north of the house. Resting on a raised concrete foundation, the walls are clad in board and batten siding and the gambrel roof is covered in asphalt shingles. Hay hoods are located on both gable ends. The one on the west elevation shelters a hayloft door flanked by window openings, one of which contains six-over-six, double-hung, wood sash while the other no longer contains sash. Small square windows are evenly spaced along the north and south elevations and openings contain six-light and two-light, wood, fixed sash and single-light, vinyl, replacement sash. The barn is flanked by a pair of c.1920 slip-form concrete silos. Both feature enclosed chutes and flared concrete roofs with small roof dormers. A c.1915 rusticated concrete block milk house is attached to the southwest corner of the barn. A large gambrel-roof ell is attached to the rear (east) of the barn, with a concrete foundation and an asphalt shingle roof. A c.1960 large round metal grain bin is located near the northwest corner of the barn. |
