NOTES
Additional Information:This property consists of five historic buildings including a service station/outbuilding [225077], a house [225078], a garage [225079], and two cottages [225081 and 229359].

The 1-story garage was constructed c.1920. It is rectangular in plan with clapboard walls and an asphalt-shingled gable
roof with exposed rafter ends. A modern, overhead garage door is located in the north elevation. The west elevation
contains a 4-pane window and a single doorway.

Note: Although this property is located on two separate tax parcels today, historic plat maps indicate that the site had
become one parcel by 1951.

The property may have operated as a motor lodge along what was then USH 41/45 (formerly
the Oshkosh-Neenah Electric Railway). Historic 1937 aerial photographs show the house, garage, service
station/outbuilding, and a series of six or seven small cottages on this site (of which, the house, garage, service station,
and two cottages remain). Because only two of the historic cottages remain, the overall integrity of the site is diminished
and, as a result, the property does not strongly convey its historical association with commerce and transportation in the
area.

The property is in good condition; the remaining buildings retain high degrees of integrity,
but the overall integrity of the site is diminished due to the loss of several of the property's small cottages. Because only
two of the original cottages remain, the property is not considered an outstanding example of a motor lodge property type.
In addition, as vernacular buildings, none of these resources possesses a high degree of individual architectural interest
or distinction.
