Bibliographic References:Date of construction from assessor's information. Milwaukee City directories indicate that in 1916 the home was occupied by John and Mabel Babcock. A citation in The American Contractor, 6 March 1915, notes a brick-veneered home (with attached garage) under construction (identified as "roofed") for JD Babcock, in East Milwaukee, architect, C.W. Valentine. Additional citation in The Daily Reporter, 17 April 1915, residence of John Babcock, Prospect Place, East Milwaukee, citing that all contracts were now let.
