Additional Information: | 2014- "This 2-story Contemporary building was constructed in 1940. It is irregular in plan with stone veneer and aluminum siding and asphalt-shingled gable roofs. The front elevation faces northwest and is asymmetrical in plan. The building consists of three distinct masses including a 1-story mass with a clipped gable roof and stone walls at the northeastern end of the building; an asphalt-shingled conical turret with a stone base near the center of the façade; and a 2-story gabled-ell mass with aluminum siding comprising the remainder of the building. A bank of three casement windows is located in the façade of the northeastern building mass. A single doorway is located in the base of the conical turret. The façade of the gabled-ell mass contains banks of three casement windows at the first and second-stories, a single doorway with simple wood surround, and a picture window flanked by 6-over-6 double-hung windows. A stone chimney is located in the center of the southwest elevation. Although the property may have been constructed as a private home initially, it has more recently functioned as a hair salon." -"STH 42: Bluff Lane (Gibraltar) to Country Walk Dr (Sister Bay), WisDOT#4140-19-00, Prepared by Gail Klein, (2014). |
