NOTES
Additional Information:This 2-story Queen Anne house was constructed c.1900. It is rectangular in plan with a brick foundation, clapboard walls,
and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan with a 1-story hipped-roof
front porch at the southwest corner. Inside the porch are a single front door and a 1-over-1 window. The porch has
squared wood supports and a simple wood railing. The remainder of the fagade is dominated by a projecting 2-story bay
with cut-away bay windows at both first-story corners. Large 2-over-1 windows are located in the center of the bay at the
first and second stories. Decorative wood shingles are located below the front gable.

The building is in good condition and retains a moderate-to-high degree of integrity (the
only visible alteration include the likely reconstruction of the front porch). The building is a fairly restrained example of
Queen Anne architecture as it does not display a high level of surface ornamentation or the immense and/or irregular
massing typical of the style. In addition, the house is not especially remarkable within the context of Queen Anne
architecture in Racine (199 other Queen Anne houses have been recorded in WHPD in Racine) or in the surrounding
neighborhood.

This building has not been previously surveyed. A new AHI record was created.
