Additional Information: | This 2-story Gabled Ell house was constructed c.1905. It is rectangular in plan with cream brick walls and an asphalt shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in plan. All visible windows and doors are capped by arched crowns, although the original arched windows have since been replaced with rectangular sashes. A 1-story, flat-roofed entry porch is located in the front ell. The porch has turned wood railings and columnar supports that rest on brick piers. Inside the porch is a three-pane hopper window and a single doorway. A large 1-over-1 window is located at the first story of the front-gabled fa<;:ade. Above this is another 1-over-1 window. Above the front porch, in the sidegabled portion of the facade, is a smaller pair of 1-over-1 windows. The building is in good condition, but retains only a moderate degree of integrity due to the replacement of all visible windows. Due to its diminished integrity, the house is not an especially fine representative of Gabled Ell vernacular architecture. In addition, as a vernacular building, the house does not possess a high degree of architectural interest or distinction. This building has not been previously surveyed. A new AHI record was created. |
