Additional Information: | Stanley O. Bokelmann, general contractor. Hogan was a physician. "Stanley Bokelman and Associations built this house in 1959. Unlike many of Bokelman's commission, which had carports, this one appears to have been constructed with a garage. A large front desk, which serves as both an entry and as outdoor living space, takes advantage of the house's location toward the back of its heavily wooded lot. The house has a fairly typical Ranch plan with a central entrance dividing the living and bedroom wings of the house. Typical of the period, a family room with fireplace is located in the partially exposed lower level. One of the unique features of this house is in the living room where the full height of the space is maximized with the presence of a loft overlooking the room below. Changes to the house include the current music room, which was created from a former bedroom by bumping out the front wall with a glass addition, and an addition to the master bedroom. Dr. Larry and Mary Hogan were the home's first owners." Hill Farms Home Tour, Madison Trust for Historic Preservation, 2006. |
