Additional Information: | This 2-story Queen Anne house was constructed c.1900. It is irregular in plan with clapboard siding and an asphaltshingled cross-gable roof. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan with an off-center front porch that has an asphalt-shingled hipped roof with turned wood supports and spindlework bargeboards. A front-facing gable with decorative shingle cladding is located over the eastern half of the porch. Inside the porch is a single front door and two 1- over-1 windows. A third 1-over-1 window is located at the first story just west of the porch. The second story of the front elevation contains two 1-over-1 windows. The wall below the dominant front gable is clad in decorative patterned shingles. The building is in good condition and retains a fairly high degree of integrity. The house displays the patterned shingles and a modest amount of the spindlework detailing associated with the Queen Anne style, but it is lacking any other elements of the style (irregular roof shapes, cutaway bay windows, irregular massing, etc.). |
