Additional Information: | This 1 1/2 story Contemporary house was constructed in 1952. It is L-shaped in plan with composition board siding and an asphalt-shingled flat roof with widely overhanging eaves. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan with a three-sided bay at the western end and a 1-story, semi-recessed front porch near the center. The corner support post of the porch terminates in a rectangular stone planter. The bay window contains one large picture window at its center, a smaller picture window with a 1-over-1 sidelight on one side, and a 1-over-1 window on the other side. The eastern end of the facade contains two small, single-pane windows in the raised concrete foundation and larger single-pane windows with 1-over-1 sidelights at the main level. A large bank of windows is located near the northwest corner; like most of the windows at the main level, these are sheltered by a cantilevered metal awning. The building is in good condition and retains a fairly high degree of integrity. The house is distinctly contemporary in its design and overall aesthetic with its wide eave overhangs, large window banks, and built-in planter. |
