Additional Information: | This 2-story Neoclassical building was constructed in 1917 as the Loyal State Bank. It is rectangular in plan with brownstone walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan. A single doorway is located at the north end of the facade; the doorway is flanked by engaged columns on each side and contains a simple entablature and dentil-patterned pediment above. The door itself is a modern, insensitive replacement with wood panels in place of the original overhead transom. The remainder of the first story contains a recently added door and a large window opening that has been filled with composition board siding and two insensitive pairs of casement windows. The second story contains three window openings, all of which have been filled with composition board siding and insensitive pairs of casement windows. Paired pilasters are located at each corner of the second story. The building appears to have been converted to apartment units, and the interior was not available for viewing at the time of survey. |
