Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property under the name "Shaw Point Historic District." It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The Campbell Cottage is a one-story cabin with a large cupola that forms a partial second story. It was constructed in 1909 by Samuel Campbell, a friend of Samuel Fifield, who operated Camp Stella on the property to the east. It originally had open porches on all four sides, but these were enclosed with sliding windows in the 1950s. Daisy (Campbell) Jensch took over the property after her father died. Descendants of Samuel Campbell and Daisy Jensch continue using the cottage as a seasonal residence. |
