Additional Information: | The gable roofed barn has a standing seam metal roof, vertically-oriented wood siding, poured concrete and fieldstone foundation. The barn has an unusual cross-gabled cupola with wood siding and standing seam metal roof, with double arched vents in each façade. There is also a lean-to addition on the barn’s east façade with weathered plywood siding and a metal roof. This barn is an unusual stylistic example for Adams County. It shows some weathering, but is in overall good condition. The property retains its one-and-one-half story cross-gable and wing vernacular house. Built between the 1920s and 1940s, it has a standing seam metal roof with small louvered vents at the gable, a poured concrete foundation and is clad in vinyl siding. Its raised one story porch in the east façade’s ell has a hipped shed roof on square posts. However, the house has been considerably altered, and is not eligible for the National Register. |
