Additional Information: | 2015- Built in 1955 and sheathed with both horizontal and diagonal board siding, this side-gabled Minimal Traditional house rises from a concrete block foundation and includes a breezeway with a mullioned window wall and an attached garage. A front-facing gable tops the home’s original, primary entrance that is now largely obscured by foliage and unused. A large single-pane picture window, as well as a corner window (that wraps around to the west), complete the home’s north elevation. A large, stone-sheathed fireplace is located between the house proper and breezeway, which was, perhaps, built slightly later to formally attach the garage. Assessor’s records indicate that this house was built in 1955. A city directory from the same year identifies the home as owned by William H. & Olga Hall. William worked for the Sturgeon Bay Paint & Glass Company. Olga and William passed away in 1975 and 1986, respectively. By no later than 1983, ownership of the house changed to James & Delia Brown. -"CTH C/Duluth Avenue Survey," WisDOT ID #4997-00-63, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (Schnell) (2015). |
