NOTES
Additional Information:2014: The Frank Hummel House is a c.1880, two-and-one-half-story vernacular house with Queen Anne details and irregular massing. It has a parged stone foundation, wood siding, and asphalt-shingle hip roof. The front (west) facade features corner cutaway gable bays and a partial-width, open hip-roof porch supported by square wood posts. The gables have decorative wood shingle siding. Windows have simple decorative wood surrounds and are primarily one-over-one replacement sashes. The gable bay at the northwest corner of the house contains a picture window. The footprint of the house has been enlarged with a one-and-one-half-story gable rear addition. The property also includes several agricultural outbuildings. The c.1880 gable basement barn (AHI No. 229751) has a stone foundation, wood board and batten siding, and standing seam metal roof. A c.1920 concrete slipform silo is adjacent. The c.1910 corn crib (AHI No. 229752) has a concrete foundation, horizontal wood slat walls, and flared gambrel roof sheathed with standing seam metal. The c.1880 granary (AHI No. 229753) has a stone foundation, wood board and batten siding, and gable roof sheathed with standing seam metal. Secondary outbuildings include a privy (AHI No. 229754) and smoke house (AHI No. 229755), each with drop siding; c.1940 gambrel shed with plywood walls (AHI No. 229756); and c.1950 three-bay detached garage (AHI No. 229757) with matching shed. 2022: No visible changes.
