NOTES
Additional Information:This mid-century modern office building was constructed in 1965 as the headquarters of ABS Global, a bovine genetics and technology company founded in 1941. The one-story, steel-frame, rectangular structure is completely glass-walled. The widely overhanging roof is supported by a colonnade of steel posts that creates an open, covered walkway encircling the building. The construction suggests there are few, if any, interior structural members, which would provide a completely open, adaptable floor plan. The structure is built into a hillside, which exposes a portion of the basement level at the rear of the building. Due to a strict company security policy, access to the interior of building and the property was not granted, and photographs were only permitted from the public right-of-way. The building is located at the entrance to an expansive ABS facility consisting of numerous farm, laboratory, and warehouse buildings. The vast majority of the buildings and structures appear to be modern. If historic-age buildings are present, they are not clearly visible from the right-of-way. 2022: Appearance unchanged. The building's original square footprint was doubled c. 1990 with a rear addition.
