Additional Information: | This property is comprised of a house, two mobile homes, a trailer and several outbuildings. The circa 1960 house has a stone foundation, clapboard siding, one-over-one wood windows, and an asphalt-shingled front gable roof with eave returns and pediment wall dormers on the side elevations. There is an interior concrete chimney and a one-story lean-to on the rear elevation. The original full-width front porch has been removed and part of the first story is covered with tin.
A circa 1965 mobile home (mobile home 1) is located in front of the house. It rests on timbers, is faced in metal, is fenestrated with jalousie windows, and has a shallow arch roof with a small shed roof clerestory over the living room.
Several outbuildings dating from circa 1995 are located northeast of the house, sited along the driveway. Most are small, frame structures (S1, S2, S3, & S4) with either gable or shed roofs covered with asphalt shingles. The structures are faced with a variety of materials, including wood siding, depression brick, and sheet metal. A metal trailer is located to the south of the small, frame structures. The largest outbuilding (Outbuilding), dating to circa 1938, is located at the north end of the driveway and is covered by a shed roof. To the northwest of the outbuildings is another circa 1965 mobile home (mobile home 2). This structure has metal siding and a flat roof. A large opening has been cut into the center of the mobile home to convert it into a shed.
Structures on this property are first visible on a 1939 historical aerial photograph, suggesting development prior to this date (ASCS 1939). It appears that in 1939, the largest of the outbuildings and a small non-extant outbuilding. It appears that the largest of the outbuildings is the only pre-1939 building still extant. The property is also visible in a 1958 historical aerial photograph. It appears that only the two pre-1939 outbuildings were extant at this time (APFO 1958). Based on historical aerial photographs, the house was constructed between 1958 and 1994 (ASCS 1994). The absence of the other small outbuildings from historical photographs suggests that these were constructed after 1994. |
