Additional Information:2007-Previously surveyed in 1980 with a c. 1928 date and as ROSSOW'S JEWELRY / BOOKED SOLID / ITALIAN BOUTIQUE. An update card was provided in 2007. The 1927 permit cites Berg & Franklin as the owner, with the contractor as the Franklin & Lex Construction Co.

2015- This one-story, brick building has a modern, glass-and-aluminum-frame storefront. A modestly shaped parapet above the
storefront features terra cotta coping. A Classical Revival cartouche is located above the storefront in the center of the
primary (south) facade.

The Franklin & Lex Construction Company built this retail building in 1927. Early tenants included the West Allis Furniture Exchange, Fair Clothing Company and the Economy Chain Stores, Inc. (auto accessories). Interestingly, later occupants included a number of women's and men's clothing shops including Peggy's Dress Shop, the Cotton Shop, Gordon's Clothes Shop and Elaine's Style Shoppe.
