Additional Information:Wallace was an officer in the Kiel Woodenware Company. His wife was the sister of Henry Mesch, who was also an officer of the Kiel Woodenware Co. and also built a Neumann-designed home (nearby at 502 River Terrace). Wallace died in 1949, while still residing in the home.
Bibliographic References:Under Contracts Awarded in The Daily Reporter (Milwaukee), 13 August 1923, a residence in Kiel, measuring 30 x 40, is identified for Wallace Johnson, with architect W.F. Neumann (who was born in Kiel and whose father was a contractor in the Kiel-New Holstein area). The leaded glass work was identified as done by Enterprise Art Glass of Milwaukee.
