Additional Information: | This Tudor Revival-style house was built around 1925, according to assessors' records. The house is one and one-half stories in height and has a complex, additive plan. The roofline is particularly complicated, with multiple dormers and cross-gables. The lower stories of the house are clad in stone veneer, with wide horizontal board siding in the peaks of the gables. The later dormer additions are clad in cedar siding. Two one-story additions project from the south and northeast corners of the house; these additions are clad in log siding. The house has a modern composite roof, and most of its windows appear to be modern replacements. An oriel window in the central gable has been clad in T -111 siding with a single aluminum-framed casement window. The arched front door, with its vertical board effect and nine-light window, appears to be original. The house retains several characteristics typically associated with the Tudor Revival style, including the overall massing and distinctive cross gables; the stone cladding; the arched door; and especially the modest stone corbels at the lowest roof-wall junctions. However, the log-sided additions, the cedar-sided dormer additions, and the replacement windows all detract from the integrity of the building. |
