Additional Information: | The date of construction is pre-1938. HAER INVENTORY (06/1979): This building is a two-story, flat roofed rectangular facility painted white on the outside and constructed of concrete slabs and brick curtain walls. The structure was accuired at auction in 1938 from the E.J. Balza Co., packer of pickles, sauerkraut and related prducts, by Stokley Brothers & Co. of Indianapolis, Ind. According to an item in THE CANNER of June 11, 1938, Stokely planned on continuing the pickle-kraut operations, packing the pickles in glass and the kraut in tin. Green Bay Food Co. later bought the facility and now uses it as a warehouse. |
