Additional Information: | Yellow brick color; plain rectangular windows with over lights and with multipaned panels front entrance portico with staged entablature supported by Tuscan columns. West bay window, enclosed east porch, side lighted entrance door; overhanging panes. A balconied entry portico is the dominant Colonial Revival Stylistic detail on the red brick house built at the end of the 1920's at 705 Dover Street for Walter Lebeis, owner of the Lebeis Hoseriery Manufacturing Company (A) In a rather unusual combination with Neo=Classical details has a low Prairie School hipped roof with windows placed directly under the soffit compressed beetween the overhanging roof and the extended lower story. The only substantial house to show the influence ofthe Prairie School, the Henry Brynelson House also is a significant representative of the 1920's Period house influenced by the Neo Classic Mode. |
